For our January Customer Spotlight, we’re proud to highlight United Technologies Center (UTC) in Bangor, Maine, a regional technical school committed to providing students with hands-on, career-focused education.
UTC offers a wide range of programs designed to prepare students for success in skilled trades, healthcare, and culinary arts, giving them real-world experience before they enter the workforce.
As part of their culinary program classroom, United Technologies Center partnered with Tri-State Marketing to bring in a RATIONAL iCombi Pro 20 Full-Size cooking system. This investment allows students to train on the same advanced equipment used in professional kitchens across the foodservice industry.
Real-World Training with RATIONAL Technology
The RATIONAL iCombi Pro 20 Full gives students exposure to industry-leading cooking technology that supports multiple cooking methods in one footprint, including roasting, baking, steaming, grilling, and more. With intelligent cooking processes and precise climate control, students can focus on learning techniques, timing, and consistency while building confidence in a professional kitchen environment.
For a culinary classroom, the iCombi Pro offers enormous educational value. Its intuitive interface helps students understand cooking processes while reducing guesswork, and its ability to handle multiple products at once supports efficient lab sessions and demonstrations. Features like programmable cooking paths, automatic cleaning, and integrated food safety support also help instructors maintain a safe, organized, and productive learning environment.
Preparing Students for the Industry
By incorporating a RATIONAL iCombi Pro into their program, United Technologies Center is giving students a competitive advantage. Many restaurants, schools, healthcare facilities, and institutions rely on RATIONAL equipment every day, meaning students graduate already familiar with the tools they’ll encounter in the field.
We’re honored to support UTC’s commitment to education and workforce development and to play a role in helping train the next generation of culinary professionals.
