The bar scene dream team made up of Belfast natives Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry have brought some unique drinking experiences to New York City. 

Their American and Irish infused taproom and pub called The Dead Rabbit Grocery and Grog, which opened in 2013, has already earned several awards, including Best Bar in the World. Structured like a classic American tavern and decorated like a traditional Irish pub, The Dead Rabbit basks in history as old photographs and sports memorabilia hang throughout. 

Fast forward several years to their latest endeavor, a retro Cuban-themed bar named BlackTail, which opened in 2016, and located only blocks away from The Dead Rabbit. This modern-day homage to twenties-era Havana provides guests with an unforgettable experience, including an extensive drink list and a menu inspired by Cuban, Spanish and Mexican cuisine.​



When it came time to choosing their bar equipment, they needed a company that could provide a complete and fully efficient work station. Our Sales Representative Ed Yuter has been with them since their start, providing excellent service and knowledge about Glastender, one of the leading manufacturers of bar and restaurant equipment.

They reached out to our Senior Sales Associate, Ed Yuter, who has been representing Glastender for over 25 years, providing excellent service, product knowledge, and design capabilities. They worked together to create layouts that enabled them to keep up with very high demand and hold up for many, many years of heavy-duty usage.


When asked why he prefers Glastender, Jack McGarry replied that “it is fully integrated, meaning we have everything for the bar stations, including modules for liquor bottles, trash, sinks with rinsers and dipper wells, drainboards with drawers, refrigeration, accommodations for cheater bottles, etc.” Glastender provided them with the total package, all while offering them superb quality and outstanding innovations. Jack said that “they had such a great experience with Glastender at Dead Rabbit, that it was the obvious choice to use at BlackTail.”



Both bars are part of HPH Hospitality, whose other properties include Le District, Pier A, Ulysses, Harry's, and Financier. Glastender has been their main bar equipment supplier for the past 19 years.
